Art comes from the heART
Well in my first blog I'm gonna talk little about our independent art or as I like to say "street art". This project is called "Santurce es Ley" and it takes place, well, in Santurce haha :P. Its programmed to unite little projects about independent art of all of Puerto Rico. It organized by more than 100 artist, galleries and ever the community participates. The motive of this project is to express our past, religion, and even important symbols that represent us all as puertoricans, like the famous Puertorican flag. But I think it express more than that. It express how the community feels about well just about everything; that includes: violence, politics, economy, poverty, an the progress in the island. This has been going for like 5 years now, wow! and every year they take it to the next level with their arts. I got the opportunity to talk with one of many of the artist that participated. I can't remember well its name, but he explain the hard work and dedication the artists put in this project. They can be like all day working in their projects on the hot sun and even in the night. This is their passion, expressing themselves through art and creating things that are beyond our minds. I took several pics of my favorites portraits for you to see and even related to them haha. I love art and drawing and everything that have to do with paint hahaha :) that's why I wanted my first blog to be about art.
